I asked God into my life 38 years ago. I was raised by a family that were Democrat (the old Democrat), moral, believed in God but didn't take us to church. But my parents were great in that they let us go to church with anyone that would ask us. So I experienced many different religions. I always had a hunger for learning about God. Then in 1985 I met my husband who was a Christian raised Baptist. The rest is history. I love you article. I can't wait for part 2.

I had a similar situation growing up. My parents were Democrats and didn't take us to church but they were always open minded—my Dad went to church growing up, and although he didn't remain Christian per se, he always stressed that the Golden Rule was something to live by.

Many Blessings to you and your family!

As Yeshua said and demonstrated often, the NT is founded upon the Torah (God's "instructions") and, specifically, the decalogue as later expanded by the moral and ethical commands, ordinances and statutes (See Matt 5:17-19; Mk 10:17-19, etc.). If one claims to be Yeshua's disciple, then one must strive to manifest 1John 2:6. Furthermore, that road to discipleship begins for Gentiles by internalizing the ruling of Yeshua's brother Jacob (James), his hand-picked successor to the Davidic "throne," as expressed in his letter at Acts 15:19-21. Be blessed for your excellent posts.
